Winter’s long, dark days are still among us, however, the darkness is lifting and we're starting to see little glimpses of the golden spring to come. Winter brings with it specific rituals and skincare routines uniquely different from its summer sisters. Here are some of our favourite ways to savour winter without all the darkness and daze.
HOLY WATER BATH SOAKS
We all love a long walk in the spring forest, but since it's probably too cold to explore for long, why not soak in the forest? Our handmade Forest Bath Soak marries magnesium-rich Epsom salts with foraged tree and shade moss and topped with French Oak moss essential oil to give that spring forest-fresh effect. Perfect for after a workout or before bed.

Yorkshire based The Printed Peanut’s line of soaps and illustrated printed products are a unique way to brighten ANY day. Another unique and effective way to fight against the winter chap is to use The Printed Peanuts Soap for Dry Skin. Infused with Cocoa Butter, Olive Oil and Coconut Oil- this sweet little soap is a gentle and nourishing way to soak off those winter blues. It's also a clean (waste free!) and vegan way to fight against fine lines and wrinkles.

We highly recommend the Ethiopia Nano Challa Lot21 (notes of black currant, floral and orange blossom) or the Nicaragua Flor Silvestre (notes of praline, hazelnut and dried fruit) batches for those cozy winter mornings. AUSTIN AUSTIN
Austin Austin is an organically certified range of soap, hair cleansers and body creams founded by Bessie and Richard Austin, a father-daughter duo from Norfolk, England. Bessie grew up in an organic household and eventually went into work in marketing. Her and her father collaborated to make this spectacular range of incredibly clean, vegan friendly, ecologically packaged and sustainable skincare. We recommend the Bergamot and Juniper Shampoo + Conditioner. Concocted with a full, transparent list of clean, ethical ingredients that look and smell divine. Also, can we please take a minute to appreciate this gorgeous branding and packaging?!

Founded by California-living Rachel Budde and made in Nevada City, California, Fat and The Moon is an independent company dedicated to organic, locally sourced and “radically non-toxic” clean skincare.
Made with all reusable or recyclable packaging, this green company doesn’t cut any corners when it comes to its recipes. Formulated with ancient ingredients using old school concoctions passed down through generations, all products are made by hand to order using the pantry of the earth.
Fat and The Moon also has a full baby range for mama moons and their little moons. We recommend the Babies Healing Dust made with soothing Marshmallow Root Powder and Arrowroot Powder, or the Growing Belly Balm made with Cocoa butter, Shea butter and Apricot Kernel Seed Oil.
For the face we highly recommend the Masa and Olive Oil Cleanser for a summer-smooth glow, or the Pimple Mud; a spot treatment made with antibacterial Goldenseal root and powerfully drawing Bentonite Clay for those super stubborn breakouts.
LIHA Beauty
The Founders of London-made LIHA beauty, Liha Okunniwa and Abi Oyepitan, have a completely unique and refreshing approach to skincare. Inspired by their African roots, this strong female duo collaborated to produce some of the cleanest and most skin friendly products around. All of their products are 100% vegan, handmade in small batches, organically and ethically sourced and packed in recyclable containers.
For keeping skin trouble at bay, we recommend LIHA Ose Gidi Black Soap. This sexy, dark soap is a veritable cornucopia of stellar skin-loving ingredients including antibacterial Moringa Oil, soothing and nourishing oils and butters (Shea, coconut, hemp, Vitamin A & E) as well as naturally derived sodium hydroxide from charred plantain skins - avoiding the need to use commercial lye. Black soap is an ancient skin clearing recipe and we definitely recommend this soap for troubled or stubborn skin.
We also highly recommend the Idan Oil, a smooth, silky coconut oil based skin conditioner infused with the night-blooming tuberose flower (a natural aphrodisiac!). The smell is intoxicating as well as leaving your skin fully nourished, especially in winter. Treat yourself all year long.
JUNIPER RIDGE
Juniper Ridge is a Northern California based company using sustainably harvested and wildcrafted herbs, mosses, leaves, branches, barks and shrooms to fragrance their organic castile soap bases. After harvesting, the flora is distilled to make their own in house essential oils.
All soaps are made ethically and sustainably with a sweet 10% of all sales going towards Protecting the Wilderness - which we love. We recommend the White Sage Body Wash, a delectably dark, rich, molasses looking soap that smells like you’re bathing in a Californian mountainside. So get to lathering, you sexy dirty hippies!
HOLY WATER
Our very own Holy Water Dry Clay cleansing and exfoliating masks are a perfect vegan addition to your skincare arsenal. Made in house on the coast of Southwest England using fresh, wild collected botanicals and herbs as well as sustainably harvested clays - these masks are formulated to match and refresh your skin type.
For winter we recommend the Scottish Rose and Oat Soothing Mask + Exfoliate for calming chapped cheeks and displaced oils. This ultra gentle pink clay based mask is so soft and soothing- it can double as a face cleanser! Made with freshly ground organic red rose petals, ground organic Scottish Oats, soft Australian Pink Clay and Soothing Kaolin clay. A subtle hint of rose absolute essential oil dusts your face in a summer garden scent. Perfect for sensitive skin.
We also highly recommend the Atlantic Kelp + Matcha Balancing Mask for those super dry days. Made using sustainably hand- foraged kelp and bladderwrack from the Atlantic Ocean, Organic green Matcha tea powder and French Green Clay. This mask has a delicate ocean-y scent that brings you right back to summer days while chilling in your bathtub.

Made by Louisa Flockhart in Yorkshire, England - this funky fresh, cute packaged soap is perfect not only for vegans, but for ANYONE looking to reduce their impact on personal waste.
